THE MUSIK-ZONE Unplugged - 300+ songs

This long list of about 200 videos is being broken down by artist and
will appear in categorized form as soon as it's finished.
A second list of over 100 more appears at the bottom of the page.

As each artist's collection comes online, you'll find an active link to it to the left (in purple). The others are still under construction. Some artists may be temporarily in an incorrect  category, but I'm working on that, too. Often, a "cross-over" artist could be in any of several categories.

Basically, I'm working my way down the list and at the same time adding artists who deserve to be listed, so it's a lengthy process.

The videos are collected from YouTube, Google Video and other sources. While many YouTube videos are nothing more than a song against a still image, others have been quite creative - and those are the videos we seek to bring you, as well as rare concert footage.

This unsorted collection has about 150 videos - some of them of new artists. There are also several different versions of some songs. As a musician, I am always interested in how different styles are applied to the same song by different performers, so you might see Whitney Houston's version of "I Will Always Love You" on the same page as Dolly Parton's original version.

Larry Carlton & Robben Ford, two of the world's best guitarists! You have to really pay attention to what they're doing...look at how they start a groove, then solo one after another..They are making their solos up as they go!! None of this is written, both of them are just up there jamming!! CRAZY Stuff!!

Where possible, I'll also be including interviews with the artists. Using Dolly Parton again as an example, you'll hear the story behind her hit song "Jolene" ... and of course I'll be adding new videos to each page from time to time, but I'd like to get at least a few on each artist's page just to get the ball rolling.

I'll also sometimes share a bit with you about how certain artists or songs changed my life or affected me profoundly, sometimes with sadness, sometimes with joy, sometimes with the energy and the power to make me feel like I could soar in the heavens like the Phoenix. This is what music is all about, the ability to transform you in so many ways!

Of course, any such collection is going to be subjective. This is the music that has been a major influence on my own life. If you have a suggestion or a request - and I can find the bandwidth - let me know. I love songs that tell a story, or that reach deep inside of you into a very private place and touch something that is so powerful it can bring you to tears ... or to the heights of glory!

And, like most of us who grew up on rock 'n roll, I crave that deep, pulsating beat - that primal rhythm that has been inside of us since primordial, tribal time began ... that drum beat that tunes into the heart and soul like a powerful energy machine.

From time to time a video will become unavailable because the person who originally posted the video to YouTube or wherever may have closed their account, been kicked off or whatever. As time permits, I try to download a hard copy of the video to my own computer network to preserve it for posterity, but I don't always make it in time. Out of the original list of 150+ above, this has happened to maybe 20 of them.
